The youngster will remain in Germany for at least the coming season after loan and purchase offers were rejected.

Following a Stoke City bid for Christian Pulisic, Liverpool’s hand was forced and Jürgen Klopp sanctioned an £11M bid for the 17-year-old Borussia Dortmund and United States winger. That bid was rejected out of hand, and earlier today Christian Pulisic’s father spoke of his son being happy to remain in Germany.

Now, sources at Dortmund are providing confirmation, if any was still needed, that Pulisic wouldn’t be making a deadline day switch to Anfield. According to Sports Illustrated, the club was never inclined to sanction a move for the talented youngster, despite both loan and purchase offers having been made for him.

Red Bull Leipzig had wanted Pulisic on loan, and with Dortmund strengthening massively at his position this summer there might have been a case for that move even if the German club were intent on not selling him to either Liverpool or Stoke. That move, though, won’t happen. Neither will a permanent sale.

Pulisic currently has two years remaining on his Dortmund contract and has so far been reluctant to sign a new deal, leading to speculation that Liverpool and Klopp are content to wait a year before trying to sign him again in 2017.
